Sync your Spoonflower design tags
Why sync your tags
Every Spoonflower design carries up to 13 tags, the keywords shoppers search by. Bringing them into Lumitela puts each design's tags on its Spotlight, so you can see at a glance which keywords your best sellers carry.
Lumitela never signs in to Spoonflower for you. Tags come across through the extension: it reads your own Design Library in your own browser, while you're logged in, and hands the tag data to Lumitela directly. It only ever reads; it changes nothing on Spoonflower.
Sync your tags
- Install the extension if you haven't already (the button above takes you to the Chrome Web Store).
- Log in to spoonflower.com in an ordinary browser tab.
- Open the extension's side panel and go to the Designs tab.
- Press Sync, choosing whichever mode fits what you need: New items only captures designs you don't have yet, tags included, and refreshes your list of collections; Full re-sync re-aligns titles, descriptions, tags, collections and thumbnails with Spoonflower; Tags and collections is a fast refresh of tags and collection membership alone.
The panel shows progress as it reads your Design Library, and the extension matches designs by their Spoonflower id and updates your catalog directly. There's nothing to import by hand afterwards.
Checking coverage
Your Design Catalog shows each design's tags once they're synced, and each design's Spotlight carries them too. Recently-added designs that haven't been tagged on Spoonflower yet show up with no tags. That's a nudge, not a telling-off; new uploads simply haven't been tagged on Spoonflower yet.
Re-run the sync whenever you like, or let the extension's automatic sync do it on a schedule. It's the same quick round trip either way, and only your latest Spoonflower tags are kept.
The old bookmarklet
Earlier versions of Lumitela synced tags with a browser bookmarklet that saved a lumitela-tags.json file for you to drop into the Import data page. That path is retired; the extension replaces it end to end, with no file to save or drop.
